I have installed ford probe f2t (year 1992) engine to my Mazda 626 (2.2i -91, f2-engine). There's been great help reading this forum. I have almost finished my engine swap project. Only thing that is left is wiring.
I have installed Probes ECU wiring but nothing more. I have problems with couple of connectors.
The are two white connectors next to ECU location. I think them connects to chassis electrical system. Can I just connect f2t engines connectors to ones which I already have in my Mazda? F2t connectors has more wires than the opposite connecor in my Mazda has.
Beside ignition coil under the relays there is a black connector (yellow inside) which connects between ECU wiring and car wiring. Mazda has 4 wires and Probe has 5 wires. Can I connect these together?
Next to main fuse panel in engine bay there is couple of connectors which connects to starter and alternator wiring. I think these wires includes for example the knocking sensos wire and starter impulse. But my Mazdas connectors differs from Probes (f2t). So how do I solve this problem? Where do I connect the knocking sensor wire?
Or do I just need to replace all the wirings I have in my Mazda with Ford Probes?
Thanks for replies and tips.
Ok, some mistakes in text i wrote before.
There are enough wires in opposite connectors located in my Mazda wirings. So if connectors just slide together I assume that the wires match.
But still I habe problem with connectors next to main fuse panel. Knocking sensor has nothing to do this. Misunderstoodin while I was reading the wires. Photo attached will tell more. How have you solved this if you even have have had similar problem?
Should I use Mazdas part of wiring harness which leads to starter, alternator, power steering and to oil pressure sensor (F2T seems to have oil level sensor) instead of F2T wiring harness which I'm using now. Or do I need to use F2T wiring harness and chance the couplings so that them will match the ones which I have in Mazda wiring harness.
Wiring diagram could also be very helpful. The ones I have already doesn't tell enough about the wiring part I'm wondering now.
